Top 5 Things in Power BI Training in Pakistan That You Probably Aren’t Using

BI #1 Power BI Training in Pakistan We must first grasp the fundamentals of Microsoft Power BI before we begin our adventure of mastering this new BI technology. In this Microsoft Power BI beginning lesson, we’ll provide you some intriguing facts and insights about this BI technology, as well as a fast review of some of the capabilities in Power BI that you might have ignored in your haste to create dashboards and reports. Here are some of the qualities we think are particularly noteworthy:

vTop 5 Things in Power BI Training in Pakistan That You Probably Aren’t Using

1. Row-level protection

Want to create dashboards but don’t want your employees to know how much the rest of the company makes? Row Level Security allows you to limit access to data at the row level.

This handy feature lets you utilize DAX filters to create rules that prevent users from accessing information that doesn’t pertain to them. For example, we can set a restriction so that our Australian users can only see Australian data as follows:

2. Quick Takeaways

Quick Insights is underappreciated and ignored because it lacks the “wow” factor of other Power BI Training in Pakistan capabilities. After you’ve uploaded your data to the PBI Service, you may use Microsoft’s computing power to look for outliers, correlations, and patterns in your dataset. This will produce a set of up to 30 graphs that can be used to explain anything interesting about your dataset, such as They can be less than remarkable at times. The Quick Insights’ main benefit is to stimulate you to ask more questions, not to provide you with a magic pill that addresses all of your problems. We just had a client that used Quick Insight the other day.

3. Questions and Answers

Q&A is one of the “magic bullets” we mentioned earlier. The strength of Q&A comes from the ability to ask simple questions and have it search your data for a response. Consider the following scenario: This is a fantastic tool that allows users to ask their own queries and find answers without having to wait for report owners and management accountants to set up reports. Of course, you might not want anyone to have unrestricted access to your information! You and your users won’t be able to access Quick Insights or Q&A in the Power BI Services in Pakistan if you use Row Level Security. That means you’re also restricted — you can’t use it to quickly make charts for presentations.

4. PBI Desktop’s Q&A

In Power BI Desktop, there is a Q&A feature. What’s going on here? I didn’t see a button for that, did I miss something? To do so, go to the Options dialogue and look at the Preview features: This opens the Ask a Question box on the Home tab’s Insert group, or you may just ask a question by double-clicking on a report page:

Now you may use Q&A from the convenience of your own computer!

5. Compare and contrast – describe the differences

The Analyze tool in Power BI Desktop is the final cool feature that we believe users haven’t taken advantage of yet. This is also in preview, but if you have a single statistic that has changed over time, you can right-click on one of the time periods, select Analyze, and ask it to explain the change (or decrease in the values). Power BI partner in Pakistan Desktop then considers what factors are at play, and presents you with a series of waterfall charts (along with the option of using bubble charts and a few other charts for good measure) to assist explain why values have changed.

How and Why to Transition Your BI Tool to Tableau Services in Pakistan

BI #1 Tableau Services in Pakistan We use a business intelligence application as a gateway to our data warehouse in my company. Ad hoc analysis, dashboarding to report high-level KPIs, and operations are just a few examples of use cases. Tableau has several advantages as a BI tool in addition to being a Salesforce product.

Despite the body of work we had accumulated in a competitor’s offering, we concluded it was worthwhile to transition. With the necessary project management capabilities, data engineering, and analytic support, we knew we could migrate to Tableau and create appealing and effective dashboards to meet all of our business demands. This post will discuss why we chose Tableau as our organization’s BI platform and how it has helped us.

BI #1 Tableau Services in Pakistan

How and Why to Transition Your BI Tool to Tableau Services in Pakistan
How and Why to Transition Your BI Tool to Tableau Services in Pakistan

Why should you use Tableau as your business intelligence tool?

1. It’s simple to use without sacrificing elegance.

One of the first things our stakeholders noticed about Tableau Services in Pakistan was how simple it is to transform a dataset into visually appealing and engaging data visualization. It’s quite user-friendly; we discovered that new users could hop right in and create a meaningful chart in minutes utilizing built-in tools like the “show me” option. Actions like data mixing and bespoke calculations are even simple for a beginning user to accomplish.

In our organization, we also have data-savvy users that seek more advanced solutions. Tableau’s unique feature is that advanced users can conduct increasingly sophisticated tasks using the same basic notions. A table calculation, for example, can be as basic as adding two columns together, but it can also be used for something more complex, such as filtering out accounts with aggregated billings larger than $100. A simple graphic, on the other hand, can be infinitely altered to match the unique use case. Toggling between different timelines or metrics, for example, is a common usage of parameters in our visualizations. We also like to use action files to provide extra information to charts.

2. There are several resources and a thriving community.

We compiled a list of resources for our stakeholders to get started studying Tableau as we began to communicate our transition plan to them. We were blown away by the sheer number of materials available on Tableau’s website, which included everything from in-depth training sessions to topic-specific articles. It gives the team the option of starting over with a learning plan or looking for answers to specific problems. Tableau training in Pakistan has such a huge market share in the BI sector that there are a plethora of extra resources, like blogs and training, generated by Tableau users. There’s a good chance you have a unique question or use situation.

3. Democratize your data while keeping security in mind.

Tableau Server is what we’re using, and we enjoy how easy it is to distribute content across our organization. It’s simple to share a dashboard or data source with team members or across teams by publishing it to the server. Tableau is also flexible enough to allow for connectors with Python and R. We’ve constructed a lot of models in Python, and we’re excited that Tableau partner in Pakistan makes it so simple to share our findings without requiring the user to install any particular software.

How to project manage your Tableau migration

1. The scope of the project is critical.

We realized that in order to have a successful migration, we needed to be clear about what the project comprised and what success meant to us. The project’s ultimate goal was to migrate our users’ essential dashboards from our previous technology to Tableau Services in Pakistan. It took roughly a month to define the project’s scope, which included establishing the project’s impacted stakeholders, the content that needed to be converted, the transition’s accountable parties, and the deadline.

2. Take use of this chance to update and improve your dashboards.

It was not always possible to directly reproduce each of the dashboards that we were required to switch due to minor changes in tools. Rather than making a direct clone of the original dashboard, we took a step back and evaluated the user’s original purpose during the UI reconstruction process.

3. Enlist the help of your stakeholders

We needed to make sure that our stakeholders were confident and prepared to use a new tool when we moved tools to Tableau. We set aside time to allow our stakeholders to create their own content and to instruct them on how to save and organize their data on Tableau Services in Pakistan Server.

Power BI Training in Pakistan mashing up, refreshing, and on-premise data

BI #1 Power BI Training in Pakistan Power BI enhances and expands on what Dynamics AX users already have. Products like Management Reporter and SQL Server Reporting Services, as well as List Pages and Analysis Services, will continue to be used. The rate of development for Power BI is incredible, with updates coming in at a breakneck pace. When you factor in other Microsoft innovations and acquisitions, you’ve got a Venn diagram with a lot of circles and potential overlaps.

BI #1 Power BI Training in Pakistan

Power BI Training in Pakistan mashing up, refreshing, and on-premise data
Power BI Training in Pakistan mashing up, refreshing, and on-premise data

What exactly is a data mashup?

The mixing, aggregation, and visualization of data from many sources is known as data mashup. It’s crucial since it allows for faster, easier, and sometimes concealed insight to aid in drawing conclusions and making decisions.

How has Data Mashup changed over time?

In the past, Data Warehouses/Cubes were driven by the desired outcomes (better, faster, simpler insight and decisions). The mashup was the systematic and enormous Extraction, Transformation, and Loading of source data from various and often different data sources, followed by the application of analytical tools and the presentation of visuals to the users. On the front end, this sequential process (which included the multi-dimensional modeling step – an important but complex step in and of itself) was often very time-consuming and IT-intensive, resulting in long lead times, multiple iterations, and disappointing results as users bemoaned the delays and frustration with available data sources.

Power BI Partner in Pakistan has enabled mashup to be relocated to the backend, allowing users to swiftly develop and share meaningful representations using the ever-expanding visuals supplied by Power BI and the community (this is a separate story – Microsoft’s open-source visualization community).

It’s worth noting that the term “mashup” might refer to a technical, data-centric term for combining tables (inner, outer, cross, natural…). It could also involve the collection and visualization of disparate but connected data.

Why should you be concerned?

Big data is, to put it bluntly, a huge opportunity. More data isn’t necessarily better. In fact, more data can make it easier to “take one’s eye off the ball.” What matters is finding meaningful morsels of data and then presenting them in a useful and timely (I think the phrase “actionable” is a little overused these days) manner. So data mashups, which entail accessing and converting (PowerQuery, OData…), aggregating, and finally visualizing, are at the heart of “Business Intelligence,” and are just as important as the analytical tools that frequently take center stage.

Consider the mosaic you can make with Power BI. A landing page made up of tiles that reflect your company/role-specific data, with a combination of real-time metrics and standard, time-based (daily, weekly, quarterly, yearly, year-over-year… you get the idea) metrics to guarantee that the time element corresponds to your demand. That’s the beauty of Power BI: you have complete control over the canvas, and it’s the mix of data/time/dimension/visualization that brings data to life and allows for deeper analysis and action.

Let’s talk about refresh.

In the past, employing multi-dimensional data warehouses/marts/cubes necessitated a lengthy project that included the refreshed strategy for several data sources, as well as the extraction, transformation, and loading. This was handled on the front end, which added to the data’s complexity and timing considerations.

While Power BI Services in Pakistan can access multidimensional data sources, it also has the ability to access other data sources (internal and external, public and private) that require a refresh strategy. The refresh settings are inherited with the dataset in some circumstances (Content Packs, for example, Salesforce) and may only be altered by the originator. In other cases, the access is to real-time data, in which case there is no refresh. However, there is a final category in which the user selects the refreshing approach required for the situation. Users evaluating data frequently ask, “This intelligence is good as of what date/time?” Refresh is a vital feature of any business intelligence tool since users frequently query, “This intelligence is good as of what date/time?”

Get your Data

On Using Power BI’s “Get Data” feature, you can access the data sources that have been set up for that user (SQL tables, spreadsheets, Wikipedia sites, and so on). Power BI builds the data set automatically, which is essentially the data that will be used for the report, visualization, or other presentation to the user. For most datasets that are built, you will have the option to specify a refresh schedule. While this refresh schedule is significant, it is overshadowed by the data source’s refresh schedule. It’s never a good idea to refresh a dataset more frequently than the data source itself is updated. And just because a data source is updated in a timely manner does not mean it is reliable.

Summary of data sources and how they are updated or refreshed

There are a variety of other data sources available, each with its own set of access methods and refresh choices. We’ll summarise it below, but the prior link contains additional information.

  • On-premise (Live Connectors) with the direct query – SQL tables and Analysis Services – there is no need to refresh because they are live connections to the data sources. These are particularly useful for dashboards and KPI-type charts and graphs, which require near-real-time analysis. Because the real-time query feature may have performance implications, caution is advised.
  • Online services (e.g., SalesForce) or organizational content packs (created and shared by someone within your company). By default, content packs for online services are updated daily, although this can be changed to match the requirement for refresh. Organizational content packs are inherited with the dataset and are renewed according to the original creator.
  • External online data sources – you can build and adjust a refresh frequency as the dataset is built. As previously noted, this should be coordinated with the source’s update.

Considerations for On-Premise Data Refresh

On-premise data contains access considerations. This is similar to a VPN or a bridge in that it secures access to data and authenticates the user. A Personal Gateway may be necessary in the case of Power BI. This can be confusing because there is also a Data Management Gateway (DMG) that provides a similar capability and was used to refresh Power BI workbooks prior to July 24, 2015. (however, this was an add-on service to Office 365). Because the two gateways don’t get along, it’s important to remove the DMG before utilizing the Power BI Training in Pakistan Personal Gateway to avoid conflicts and issues.
